The project combined solar PV across dual roof aspects, a modern air source heat pump, and a battery storage system with inverter integration.

To support the move away from gas completely, our parent company A Greener Alternative also installed an air source heat pump, helping the property transition to a modern, efficient heating system powered by electricity.

Integrated Renewable Energy System – West Sussex

This impressive modern detached home in Steyning, West Sussex, showcases how multiple renewable technologies can work seamlessly together to create an energy-efficient, future-ready property.

Working in partnership with our sister company, A Greener Alternative, Greener Solar Solutions delivered a fully integrated system combining solar PV, battery storage, air source heating and EV charging. All designed to maximise efficiency, comfort, and long-term savings.

The Solution

Solar PV System

The property’s south-facing roof provided the perfect opportunity to maximise solar generation. We installed a high-performance solar PV array, making full use of the available roof space to capture optimal sunlight throughout the day.

To ensure longevity and performance, bird protection guards were fitted, safeguarding the system against nesting and debris build-up.

Battery Storage & Inverter

A specifically designed outdoor Fox ESS battery and inverter system was installed, allowing the homeowners to store excess solar energy for use during the evening or periods of lower generation.

This intelligent storage solution increases energy independence and significantly reduces reliance on the grid.

Air Source Heat Pump System

Heating and hot water are supplied by a high-efficiency Mitsubishi Ecodan air source heat pump and installed by our sister company A Greener Alternative (please link this).

The system provides:

  • Domestic hot water
  • Underfloor heating downstairs
  • Radiator network upstairs
  • A neatly positioned hot water cylinder was carefully installed within an adjacent cupboard, ensuring minimal disruption to living space while maintaining accessibility and performance.

EV Charging

To complete the property’s renewable ecosystem, an EV charger was installed on the exterior wall enabling the homeowners to charge their electric vehicle using self-generated solar energy whenever possible.
